Making well-known files visible

Hello, so I'm trying to make well-known files visible for users so I can redirect them from the website to a mobile app, however, it's refusing to upload the files in the public/.well-known folder.

https://mybreakpoint.app/.well-known/apple-app-site-association

is the closest I've been with it giving me the index.html file. Can I get some help here?
