just scroll WAYWT and wear stuff you like, 5'6 and stocky isn't a rare body type
I think most issues people seem to have with fit are when they're trying to use clothes to make them look something that they're not, ex: slimming your build, trying to look taller, etc. That's not going to change with any pant cut, embrace how you look.
Wear stuff you like and that fits you comfortably in the way you want

also what styles do you like? in a vacuum, ignoring what the person's body may be? it's easier *and healthier to start from there and then find specific things to achieve that look
