Sound randomly stopped working.

Rebooted my PC and all devices are gone except one HDMI probably monitor but no sound plays, infact no music or video player (including browser) seems to want to play anything now. Shutdown/reboot is now also delayed. Logs attached

I see a bunch of usb errors and alsa (+-the sound driver) error out. Try to reboot and choose the other option from the grub boot menu.

The other option?

There's a 0 and a 1 you can choose from in grub. Choose 1

Booting to 1 instead of 0 (what does that do btw?) @biebel There is more stuff here but not the right stuff

It boots into the bazzite image before the updates. Try inserting into another usb port and see if that helps anything

Do I need to reboot everytime I am thinking if its usb fucking something up id inplug everything and test one at a time?

Also do another journalct after, but to another textfile and upload it here. I got to go soon, but that will help diagnosing. No need to reboot inbetween I think.

Should I go back to 0

First get the logs from this boot. Well, first replug to other usb and then do the logs, so we can see what happens when you do in the logs

In usb 1-2 it's not registering, but in 1-8, it's getting the product id.

Still not showing up

Try rebooting with it in whichever usb port 1-8 is. I really have to go now though :(. It's worth trying it on another pc just to make sure it's not defective too.

Rebooted with only keyboard and mouse and soundcard

The second I tried to plugin a USB-C cable in my one USB-C slot on the motherboard (with nothing else attached to it yet) the computer INSTANTLY shutdown soo that port might be done and the cause of the issue? Not what my sound was plugged into but I can imagine it could cause haywire

It looks like it's a combination of things. A kernel regression causing it to malfunction on the latest update on a working usb port and hardware failure. Looking at that last log, it should work wit that setup in the backup image or at least it can be brought to a working state. https://www.google.com/search?q=Behringer+UMC202HD+linux ☠️
