College shoes for men
Hi!
I'm very new to fashion and going to college in florida this fall and trying to figure out what shoes to get(i only have beat up sneakers rn).
I dont really have a style yet, just wear college basics - jeans shorts t shirts etc.
Thinking of getting 2 sneakers and 1 other casual shoe to start with. What would you all recommend? Should I get white sneakers or dark?
Also any tips on how to make shoes match the rest of my outfit?

I got a pair of Saucony ProGrid Omni 9's recently and they are maybe the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn. If you like that chunky dad sneaker look they are a good pick imo.
A white sneaker is hard to beat. Do you like to wear pants that are slimmer, wider, or somewhere in between?
Are some basic options that you could get in either dark or light colors
reebok club c, puma speedcats, adidas gats, salamon x900 or whatever the fuck theyre called, doc martens, gh bass loafers there are literally unlimited shoes what do u like

create an inspo album of outfits you like. use ig, tiktok, pinterest, etc to find people wearing clothes or use #inspiration or #waywt-highlights in this discord to get started.
If u bring us pics of things you like and a budget in $$ (or whatever currency you use), we can suggest brands or retailers to shop at.
Everything else is on you. Figuring out what you like, trying on clothes, spending money on clothes, wearing clothes. All u big dog.

Black or white shoes should go with any outfit, really it’s the formality of the outfit where they may not fit (don’t wear converse with a suit).
I would just go with the classics: Chuck 70s, Blazers, Vans Authentic, Sambas. I prefer white sneakers personally, but black can look good as well.
Thanks for your advice guys! I ended up getting a brown Converse canvas shoe, a white Vans flat sneaker, and a black New Balance sneaker for the gym and casual wear.
Now that I have them, I am wondering which shoes would go better with this outfit and necklace:
My hypothesis is that the brown ones would be better because they match the chain?
