Won't install
System is an Asus M360M-A motherboard with an i5-8400 and a RX 6600 GPU.
The system freeze shortly after starting the install.
I attach screenshots of the various TTY screens and error messages, including running
lspci
to confirm that the GPU is recognized.
I am a longtime Linux user (coming from Kubuntu) but brand new to Bazzite. Any help is appreciated.

Are you using ventoy
don't even know what that is
have you tried using the Live ISO?
not yet, will try.
what's the difference from the POV of installing?
you see a desktop
Which I do.
And then I click to install and get stuck at the same place.

how long have you waited?
it might take a while, there is no progress indicator
more than 30 minutes with no progress
I suspect it might be a partitioning issue, I am working on that.
just clocked that your using the bazzite-deck image
did you want it to boot straight into gaming mode?
if you want to just use bazzite as a desktop OS you'll just want the normal bazzite ISO
either way i've seen people get error code one from leftover EFI partitions
check this page out in the documentation https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/troubleshoot_guide/#error-code-1
Installation Troubleshoot Guide - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.
Thanks for the help.
I was already on that page, which is why I went to clean up the EFI partition before starting again.
Basically I need a dual-boot system, so I:
- wiped the drive (removed all partitions)
- installed windows from scratch
- resized the EFI partition from the 100MB created by Windows to 400MB for dual-boot
- resized the Windows partition to give me 600GB unallocated
- and now I'm retrying the Bazzite install. This time it may turn out better. Wish me luck.
And... it installed.
A little surprised that
a) there's no way to boot to grub to pick a path, it has to be done in BIOS
b) it takes 2:30 to boot to Bazzite
plus... I have to re-login to Steam every time I boot, even though there's a "remember me" checkbox that I guess doesn't work.
can you output
systemd-analyze blame
here
maybe some service is taking a long time to startIn any case, no worries. I'm giving Fedora's KDE spin a try.
