Stuck in verification loop when logging into EGS
I'm trying to log into EGS and this keeps popping up. I've attempted to clear cache, clear app settings, and uninstall/reinstall the program. I'm on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon. Each time I click the checkbox to verify it rapidly rotates between session ID numbers.
Please let me know if there is any more info I can provide to help get past the verification.

So my suggestion is you check your connection

What would be the best method to check or change settings? I was able to connect to EGS up until a recent Heroic update and I didn't intend to change any of my network settings if they got changed.

sometimes your isp just changes things

Most easy way: Restart your router/modem.
As sometimes this is literally the fix.
Once i had an issue with multiple websites ( including Steam akamai cdn) were just blocking me without me changing anything.
Turned out my isp ( they didnt offer ipv6, only ipv4) put me in a nasty cgn pool, which was causing the issue.

also though, ISP provided DNS is really bad lots of the time haha

Okey dokey. I'll give that a shot shortly. Thanks for the quick responses! ❤️
It seems no luck on restarting my modem/router. Any other ideas to pursue?
I did another quick test on your connection thoughts by deciding to connect through VPN and it goes through fine

use an external dns like 1.1.1.1 or google's, or tether to your phone to sign in

Then disconnecting it dumps me back to the one more step loop. So youre for sure correct on that end.

through vpn to a us end point often works too

I'll just cconnect through a vpn for now. No worries there. Thanks for the fast replies once again 🙂

changing your dns is likely to work
and is better for your connectivity overall, isp provided dns servers are usually garbage

I'm a networking noob, I'll give it a shot though.

how you change it depends on your os

I think I can do it through the google home app since I have google wifi

oh no this is a setting on your pc (or your router)
but if you're on google, its probably defaulting to the google dns

I gave it the good ole college try. Set my local pc dns and secondary dns to the pic below and no luck

Verified cloudflare for my dns on ipleak

wait so you were able to log in via vpn, but when you got off vpn it didnt stay logged in?
tyically when you have issues like this the three main ways around:
- use dns fix
- use a vpn
- use a wifi tether to your phone

I can just stay on the VPN when using Heroic. Its not a huge deal.
