MODS DATA wont sync from personal world to newly hosted server side world (same save)
Hi there, i had a local hosted game that i used to turn my pc on and invite my friends, i then decided yesterday to buy a server and add the mods and the save to the server, one i loaded the server my save was the same but all progress that included the mods is gone? meaning all mods have to be researched again? Anyone know a fix?

In general, assume all players (and the server, if using a dedicated server) need the same set of mods installed to play together. There are some exceptions. SML3.7.0 enabled the compilation of mods for Dedicated Servers and SMM3 makes it easy to manage mods on a server, be it a local server or ho...
are you sure the mods have been installed server side?
what if you upload that save again now, it could have started the server before the mods were installed -> content removed
Yes they have, i can join the save on the server all my progress is there, just not the progress made with the mods (EG i had extra conveyor belts from a mods, the machines using the moded conveyors no longer have those conveyors as i need to go and research the conveyors in the hub again)
But the mods are in the server
try uploading the older save (when you still had stuff unlocked) again
I have tried still nothing
Its almost as if the (mods) have there own save data location?
Thats what i need to know so if thats the case i can copy it over to the server
Via SFTP
They do not
Thus meaning i wont be able to transfer the progress made with the mods to the new server?
Usually this is caused by the save having been loaded and then saved without the mods
No, mod save content is identical to non mod save content
So if i format my server, add it to SMM again then add to the Satisfactory "server" menu in the game menu and launch it, it should work?
Because the server was laucnhed without mods once.
>scim
Upload your save to SCIM and see if you can see the modded content there

If not, most likely you accidentally removed it from your save somehow, and need to use an older save to get it back
So these are the steps
1. Format server to original state
2. ADD new server SFTP to SMM and sync the 5 mods im using
3. go in game add the server to server manager and upload the save from my PC hosted world
all should be good then?
Assuming the save still actually contains the modded content, yes that should work.
But if that's also what you did last time, repeating it seems unlikely to produce different results
The mods do show
last time i did the same thing but i joined the server with no mods
Ah that'll explain it
So leme try
@Sam (Check for updates 🔄) If i try to connect to the server with SMM that HASNT every been launched will it connect? because im trying now but its just loading and loading
not picking up the dedicated server
It may need to be launched once to be detected
I'm not sure
So i can luanch the server with a brand new world
with no mods
then connect SMM
add mods
join same world
leave and add my save from my pc
join back ?
Sounds logical to me
lets see if our logic is logicing :hypers:
@Sam (Check for updates 🔄) if i could give u a kiss i would, thank you for helping me ❤️
its all working
ONE LASTTT question
how do i configure the mods? As before id do it the mods menu but now i assume i dont do it there
I think you can for client side settings, I could be misremembering but I think server side settings is a work in process
most mods that are dedicated server compatible have moved settings to Mod Savegame Settings which are per-save and can be edited as a client from the pause menu. if the mod is still using mod configs, configure it on your client, then copy the config file to the server
