Java tech interview

Hi everyone, Two weeks ago, I had a technical interview for a Java position. It went fine, and the interviewer told me they would let me know within two weeks, yes or no. I didn’t hear anything in that time, but after the two weeks passed, I got this message: Hello, Within the scope of the Java vacancy, as promised, feedback was planned to be provided within two weeks, however, due to certain changes in the process, additional time was required. Please note that we will definitely provide you with feedback within the next week in any case. Thank you again for your understanding and patience. This message is short and doesn’t give much detail What do you think — is this a positive sign, or are they just delaying rejection? Does hiring sometimes take this long?

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just have some sort of issue where they need to sort out something unrelated to you or alternatively it could mean they want to accept it but there's some process-related thing taking time

Yeah, one factor might be that I told the HR I have other opportunities as well. Maybe their message was also a way of telling me to stay tuned and not start something else just yet.

Or maybe it's just that the person making the decision in the end got sick. Or all of you have been so bad that they need to reconsider their life choices.
