Game crashes during Agent Select
Over the past few days my game crashes randomly during agent select. It doesn't happen every game, but if it does, my screen goes black and I'm back on my desktop home screen before having to re-open the game. Does anybody else experience the same or know how I can fix the issue?

can you try turning off multithreaded rendering
yeah, but I thought that it was generally better to have it on
10 years ago yeah but these days not as much imo
gpus all support bindless rendering these days, draw call count isn't as high as before, and the overhead of multithreaded rendering sometimes outweighs the benefits, because it makes the driver's job harder
it's also a reason why valorant doesn't use dx12, because there's barely any benefit
hmm okay, I usually kept it on because I got a decent fps boost and I've never encountered the problem until post-UE5 update
also, I should mention I have an older machine, I'm not sure how much that will affect my situation
shader cache S T U T T E R xD at least Fortnite added optional DX12 to performance mode
If you think that DX12 won’t bring any benefits, then I don’t know if you even test your own game. I won’t spend another cent on this game
"valorant doesn't use dx12, because there's barely any benefit" please tell that to the endless number of players with AMD GPUs who have to play Valorant through unbearable stuttering for countless hours until the shader finalls cache for all abilites and animations.. DX12 and the ability to preload the shader cache at the start of a game would have a huge impact for a lot of players.
I made posts on reddit about Valorant AMD stuttering years ago, and I'm still receiving DMs on a regular basis asking if I found a way to fix this. No, there is no fix. AMD sucks at loading shaders on DX11/UE. And Riot will not address it.
But I guess if AMD users are only 20% of your playerbase, you can just pretend they don't exist.
Not the case
but it does more harm than it does good

Fortnite fixed it but Riot cant 😄
skill issue I guess
The devs of Fortnite didn’t have problems like 'skill issue' and Fortnite runs super smoothly in performance mode on DX12. But it is what it is, it’s best not to play Valorant since it’s the only game that runs like garbage on AMD cards
To update, my game crashed again yesterday, but I was told it was a VAN184/VAN185 (forgot if it was 184 or 185) error this time
the circumstances that the crash occurred in are still the same
lately i got this problem my game auto shut down during agent select, no window popout just back to desktop, not every game but randomly. So i have to log in again and wait for 5min penalty only to start another game, it happen quite often.
did you pick chamber when you crashed?
