Cyberpunk installed both in steam and on desktop mode not fully launching
Hello I download heroic games launcher so I could play my Gog version of cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately when I booted up it doesn't even pop up and then the play button reappears again and same with the steam installation. I have never used heroic and I just got my steam deck 2 days ago so I'm entirely new to this. I've read online that you have to click on the exe and direct it to that but there is no cyberpunk 2077.exe in the installation folder I've tried running verify and repair and that says everything's all right so I'm kind of at my Wit's end for why it won't work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm currently downloading discord on my steam deck. I can provide a photo of the log till I can copy and paste. It looks like the log was updated to https://OxO.st/KrSP.log

I have Cyberpunk 2077 (GOG) installed via Heroic on my Steam Deck LCD, Legion Go, and a Mini PC all running Bazzite. Very similar to Steam OS.
Here's the settings you want to use in Heroic.
In Heroic Launcher > Settings > Advanced > Check "Allow using Valve Proton to run Games".
Go back to Library > Cyberpunk 2077 game entry > Settings icon >
WINE Tab > Wine Version set to Proton - Proton 9.0 (Beta)
Advanced Tab > Disable UMU
Launch it once. It should go to the CDPR Launcher, and if you have a GOG account and want could saves you can login for Cloud Saves and goodies
Start the game once, then close it.
Go back to the Cyberpunk 2077 settings, Advanced Tab > Game Arguments > and type
--launcher-skip
if you have already used Heroic to add the game to Steam, delete that game entry from Steam, and then in Heroic re-try "add game to Steam"
Now try launching the game from Steam (in Desktop mode), and if that works switch to Game mode and enjoy
In Game Mode, there is an input/controller issue if you are trying to use UMU and GE-Proton 9 or 10. I found that disabling UMU worked, but honestly the game runs great without UMU and the standard Proton9

So I did everything and unfortunately it's still not loading no launcher or anything same issue ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I'm wondering if I should just uninstall and reinstall but the verification said the files were good

That's very odd. I think my next step would be to try:
1) Delete your WINE prefix folder (/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Default/Cyberpunk 2077)
or
2) Create a new prefix folder
and if that doesn't work, then yeah, I'd try a clean install again including a new prefix folder, and do those settings (Disable UMU, Proton-Proton9) before trying to launch at all

Redownloading worked! Thank you for all your help! I really appreciate it. There's so many settings in heroic it's a bit daunting to figure out what specific ones need to be enabled or disabled to get stuff to run properly so thank you

I believe so I just got out of desktop mode. When I uninstalled it I made sure to keep all the settings from before because I didn't want to have to come through everything and make sure it was going to work again so I'm assuming that they're all the same I do know you and you was disabled but I did not look at proton

Try it from Game Mode. I've had issues where Steam Deck controller does not work with Cyberpunk 2077 when using UMU and/or ProtonGE

Well that's going to save me some money I was almost about to drop 20 bucks on cyberpunk cuz that's how much it is on steam today but I'd have to go out and make that money before I even be able to afford it lol

That's a good question I haven't even started to consider that it looks like I'll have to restart the game which is all right since I didn't play much. I got it when it originally came out and it was so buggy and stuff that I put it down and now there's always updates so seems like the perfect time to restart

My first playthrough was last year (on Steam Deck), no mods. You can mod it on the Steam Deck pretty easy tho using NexusMods App, and installing some Winetricks in Heroic, and setting a launch option in Heroic
If you ever want to do that, just hit me up.
My other recommendation is to run the game not on the "Steam Deck" graphics preset, but rather "Low Preset", with upscaling off (no FSR2, FSR3, or XeSS), and Texture quality High
