Wardrobe overhaul

Hi im starting uni and want to have a versatile wardrobe that I wont regret. I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what I want to dress like and I have been slowly been building a solid wardrobe with more "timeless pieces" but tbh before I got more into clothing I thought that the way I dressed was good but it was actually horrible. I feel like now I have a sense as to what looks good but I have felt that way before so any advice from someone with more experience would be very helpful just so I can avoid investing in something that I might regret. I am mainly looking for advice on pieces that are more timeless and for everyday like socks, shirts, shoes and accessories use but Im keeping an open mind to anything. current wardrobe I have other pieces but this is mainly what I wear jackets RL collared jacket north face nuptse puffer Tops Velour Garments 1000gsm faded brown hoodie Velour Garments 350gsm thermal olive, bone and faded black Velour Garments 300gsm LS bone shirt Le Tigre 3d knit (like coogi) brown/black/white RL rugby shirt black/white RL plaid shirt blue/green RL baige Sweater RL striped sweater navy/maroon Columbia brown button down SS silver tab t shirt stussy t shirt patagonia LS t shirt Bottoms Velour Garments Raw Denim and mid indigo Carhartt double knee black and baige Carhartt carpenter black and navy Potential buys Slides reccomendations - comfortable waterproof slides I could wear indoors that are not supper narrow but look good Velour Garments forest fleece - I really like it but I would have to figure out ways to style because its more loud NB 2002r protection pack phantom onitsuka tiger mexico 66 (light earth tones not sure yet) watc wife pleasers - the material seems really nice + good fit zaguas white tees - been searching for a while and nothing really meets all criteria for me Maybe Velour Garments socks - Im size 13 and I have not found anything up to that size that also has the same quality

Hi @Jacob, Tinky Mcgee! For better answers, include: - Reference pictures - Budget in numbers - Specific measurements - Openness to buying secondhand and/or online - Location: country/continent is fine - Timing/urgency

congrats at starting uni! this is a good start, one thing that i would want you to focus on is identifying what you want to dress like, find picture and inspiration (within this server) here #waywt #waywt-highlights #inspiration as for making sure you don’t buy anything you regret make sure you take things slow or buy things with a. generous return policy, remember that buying things or finding out what you don’t like to wear is another step in finding out what you do want, it’s unlikely that anyone on this server is going to recommend you to “buy this one thing and elevate your style” because it’s just simply not how it works, fashion is a way of expressing yourself and you know yourself better than anyone else

obligatory advice speaking as an Old here: i would keep an open mind, as you may learn and be inspired by different stuff as you experience new things and meet new people in uni. BE SAFE but know that making choices (and mistakes) in what you wear/buy/do is a part of life and how you grow as a person and likely how you find what you truly like. bundon's advice is a great start imo you may want to look at nepenthes (engineered garments, needles, south2west8), braindead and manresa, either for clothes or for styling ideas
