Chunk loading slow (sparkedhost)
Hi,
I went with Sparkedhost, and I'm noticing that my chunks are loading slowly. Should this be the case with 5 GB of RAM? I've hardly used plugins, and if it's this slow in rendering, then I can't imagine when I actually get down to the real work.
Is this a bad hosting service?

so weird mercury for me is the 3 cores 4gb ram unless im on wrong one idk
ive never used service so idk im asuming you are classed as budget which isnt the best cpu for mc

h- how did they split a cpu core in half?

nuclear fission
50% on ptero
i guess
it can be caused by a lot of factors:
- low bandwidth (probably not your case, but needs investigating)
- low RAM (4 GB should be enough)
- slow CPU (this is probably the most likely, given that you are using the budget plan in a shared host)
- slow Storage (probably not your case, since you have an SSD)
- slow world generation plugin (probably not your case, since you are using vanilla world generation, right?)
seems like a noisy neighbor issue
yeah sparkedhost, in my experience, offers a really good deal but at the cost of performance
which is really great for games that don't require all that great performance, but sucks for a game like mc
you should pregenerate the world in that case
yeah that would probably help a lot, though it looks like the SSD space is quite small
so it'd have to be a tiny world
yeah
something like 5000 radius
realistically though, probably spending more than $2/mo on a minecraft server is the way to go
i use sparkedhost's $2 plan to run Unturned servers because that game is easy as piss to run, but i would never expect a minecraft server to function with that hardware
I'm not sure if that would be affordable
It's hard to find the right hosting service, there's always pros and cons.
