Help with multiplayer - The classic "Playing: Terraria"

I have read multiple posts about how I'd fix this kind of issue, as I am the one hosting and the only one in my friend group who has the patience to actually debug stuff at all I am currently on Linux - with no option of switching to Windows at the moment (currently on Debian 12 to be specific), and have had to fix quite a few bugs, yet this one stumped me Usually, while on Windows, I would just close the Terraria instance on steam by right-clicking the game and pressing stop. I tried this, and it doesn't work, it instead only shows "Stopping" indefinitely. I then resorted to looking through some forum posts here, where people were told to launch by opening the start-tModLoader.sh file, which seemed to work, except that now the Steam overlay wouldn't work, and nobody could join me via the Steam Multiplayer option "Host & Play" hlep

Basically, what I need is a way to launch tmodloader with all of the steam features, without it ever launching terraria
