What to wear with this green corduroy shirt?
This is another shirt I've had for a while and like a lot but not sure I've ever worked out how to wear it.
It's unusual (to me) in that is has an open collar but is quite a thick material (corduroy) and not obviously a summer shirt, which I associate with open collars.
These are two different outfits I've worn it with, recently. Am I thinking along the right lines? Or should I be doing something totally different with it? Any ideas for improving these looks or starting again with totally new ones appreciated!

Hi @RedWhisky! For better answers, include:
- Reference pictures
- Budget in numbers
- Specific measurements
- Openness to buying secondhand and/or online
- Location: country/continent is fine
- Timing/urgency
I'd tuck it in so you get a better contrast in length between the shirt and the jacket on top of it
I'd also probably only leave the top button undone, not the top two
but basically just wear it like a regular button down but with a more interesting texture
in warmer (not summer, but like spring & atumn) weather you can also wear it as a light jacket over a t shirt
i wouldnt tuck it or wear it with a visible undershirt, unless its unbuttoned enough to see a white tank underneath.
The first outfit is along the lines I would personally go for. I do agree with not going for a visible undershirt and only buttoning the top button. I think the way you’re using it as a layering piece is good too; using the open collar and how it “stands up” to add visual interest is a nice touch.
not sure if it's just the lighting but the green seems like a very cold tone which makes it clash with the warmth of the beige and red
might mesh better with some grays or more blues
First outfit is good but the blazer is too dark for the rest of the outfit I’d swap it for something else maybe a gray wool or something
More texture can make it less Uniqlo feeling - denims, herringbone, wools
I dunno ... I almost always tuck my shirt. But here I just thought with the super-casualness of the trousers and jacket, and the camp collar and very casual-textured shirt, it kind of made sense to try an untucked look ... Will try it with tucked and see what difference it makes.
Hmm ok I was actually seeing it as quite a warm colour but I'm not always great at judging that!
