Reset face recognition for 2 specific faces

Hi, I have 2 very similar faces that are both detected as the same person. I would like to completely reset the face recognition data for that specific person and then re-tag them in the photos. However, since I have already tagged over 350,000 faces, I don’t want to reset all the settings and start everything from scratch. Is there a way to do this? Thank you very much.

So GPT helped me, it works great! solution: ⚠️ Warnings Before You Start Direct action on the database = any mistake can delete more than you intended. You must take a full backup before deleting anything. This action deletes the person and all its relations → the photos return to “Unassigned” and you can re-tag them. Step 1 — Backup the Database On your server (inside the postgres container): docker exec -t immich_postgres pg_dump -U immich -d immich > immichbackup$(date +%F).sql This will create a .sql file containing all data. Keep it safe. Step 2 — Enter psql docker exec -it immich_postgres psql -U immich -d immich Step 3 — Find the Person Inside psql run: -- Show all people (short list with id and name) SELECT id, name FROM person ORDER BY name; Note down the id of the person you want to delete (e.g. 123e4567-e89b-12d3-a456-426614174000). Step 4 — Delete the Person DELETE FROM person WHERE id = '123e4567-e89b-12d3-a456-426614174000'; This also deletes relationships in other tables thanks to cascading foreign keys. Step 5 — Exit \q Step 6 — Re-run Face Recognition Admin UI → Jobs → “Face Recognition” → Run.
