Our teacher told us a shortcut to just break double bond and oxygen both sides If there is oxidative ozonolysis is there, the aldehyde is converted into carboxylic acid and formaldehyde is converted into CO2 and H20

Thats when it is cold dilute alkaline KMnO4 or 1% KMnO4 When it is given heat with KMnO4/H+ or KMnO4/OH-, it behaves just like oxidative ozoznolysis
