Heroic gets stuck creating Wine Prefix
When starting a game using Heroic, it just says "launching" and nothing happens.
The logs found under the context menu "Logs" option basically only listen my System specs and that's it.

Hi :evil_frog:
Well, for starters stop using Flatpak 🐸
Aur package is official, use that

i prefer flatpak

🐸

and it also used to work a week ago
idk why it doesnt launch anymore

Hmm, simply try toggling umu off/on again

(19:43:39) [DEBUG]: [Backend]: Running Wine command: createprefixseems to get stuck on this

I assume this is not ntfs
I choose to blame flatpak if no ntfs
I urge you to try with appimage one
After all doesnt install as a system package
afraid-scarletOP•3mo ago
urgh probably just gonna reboot to windows to play it then >.<

Classic 🐸

So nobody else has any idea either?

did you try anything leopard suggested?
- is your file system ntfs
- if not try appimage
if your file system is ntfs, dont install the wine prefix to the ntfs volume

its not NTFS and i dont use any NTFS partitions on linux
all trusty ext4
i fixed it by setting up access to the folder that the game is installed in
idk why i had to do this, picking that folder with the file picker should do that automatically as far as I know
i went in and did it with flatseal

So it just was flatpak things as usual

kinda sucks that there's no good way to distribute software on linux
xenial-black•3mo ago
With aur currently down, i fully agree 🐸
afraid-scarletOP•3mo ago
aur doesnt work for immutable distros
xenial-black•3mo ago
Who cares about those lol, arch is da wae
afraid-scarletOP•3mo ago
i wanna switch to one at some point
that approach makes the most sense for an OS
generous-apricot•3mo ago
if you dont use a directory heroic has been granted access to you need to use flatseal to grant access to heroic
afraid-scarletOP•3mo ago
doesnt the built in file picker automatically grant access?
ratty-blush•3mo ago
the file picker grants access to a single file, but not to a directory, if the file needs to create files around it for example it will fail
