Leather shoe conditioning

Almost done with my daiso leather cream, and looking to replace with something nicer. A quick trawl on reddit tells me bick 4 is a generally popular, multipurpose leather conditioner. It's a bit expensive to procure in my neck of the woods (asia), so i'm curious if theres any non-american brands that are similarily well regarded - surely EU has loads of options, for example. Bonus if its available in an untinted variant. Semi related, but do people condition their leather sneakers as well? Mine developed cracks after 1 year of wear and im looking to stretch the longevity out as long as possible.

I think Saphir is considered "better" anyway. I'd use it but it's expensive here

I prefer Bick 4 for casual conditioning (ie I don’t want to do a lot of work.) Saphir for heavy-duty conditioning jobs. Saphir has the ability to really change the color of the shoes. It’s not bad, just the conditioner doing its job. But it can often feel unintended.

Hard to, a lot are cheaper painted leathers. You can generally re-apply Angelus paint to touch them up I use Lexol because it was the cheapest when I got it. Works fine, you can get neatsfoot oil from them or another brand if you're worried about any darkening. Bick and Saphir work fine as well, most stuf will be pretty decent

Sneakers tend to be a different kind of leather and idt it's worth it to bother. I conditioned my Margiela GATs once and they're still fine like +10 years later

Shoe Care Without Being a Nerd
Inspired by How to Love Cast Iron Without Being a Nerd About It by Internet Shaquille . Shoe care can seem really daunting and difficult. You’ve heard all about this “Goodyear Welt” thing and finally sent it and spent more on a pair of shoes than you thought was humanly possible. They’re supposed to last, but what do you need to do to ge...
