Shaper Results Worse After GATS?
Hi, I need some advice regarding some sub-optimal belt tension and shaper graphs. I completed the initial build of my VC4 300 about a month ago, and I’ve been running it as a CoreXY machine with good success. I did my initial belt tensioning by ‘feel’, and got reasonably good results (ZV/MZV shaper recommendations).
I originally purchased it as a hybrid kit, and I’m ready to install the hybrid belts to completly finish the build. In preparation, I decided I should adjust the belt tension with GATS. I did that today, along with adjusting my belt lengths to ensure they are equal. I originally tried 1.5kg of weight, but they felt a bit loose, so I did the final tension at 2kg per side.
My belt and shaper graphs are attached. I feel that after GATS I have gone backwards. My guess is that I need more tension, but I’m looking for advice before I proceed. Part of my concern is that the GATS process appears to have made the balance between the x and y belts to be worse than before GATS, and the second hump is larger.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
