Game Crashes on Launch
Could be a super niche issue but I am running Bazzite on an ROG Ally X, and trying to get Gears of War Reloaded to run.
The game launches, loads the Easy Anti Cheat init menu and then tells me the game didnt launch correctly and to choose to revert to default settings or not.
After selecting an option the screen turns black as if its starting and then just crashes back to the Steam launcher. Log file is attached.

If you keep crashing at the same point, you may need to reverify filesOnly launch option is to generate log file. SO PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Verified files as well, log file indicated it might have been missing a few DLLs.
given that the game just released, try a newer version of Proton instead of 9
either 10 or Experimental
Probably should have mentioned all this in the op. Tried a few different Proton versions, and still no dice. I do think it being brand new is a problem, defintely a compatibility issue somewhere in the chain.
I have seen some games in beta not have EAC enabled but turn it on without Linux compatiblity when they launch
Totally don't mind waiting if its just not compatible out of the gate. If I had my steam deck id test on that as it claims its verified out of the box.
Steam Deck compatibility wouldn't (shouldn't) be any different
Might be an issue with the game itself.
Too early to know for sure but its looking more and more like thats the case.
Fresh install of Bazzite and the issue still persists. Works on Steam Deck and Windows without issue.
Odd behavior for sure.
I thought about this more, and I remember now a situation where this was not the case. There have been games that only work on SteamOS, such as Infinity Nikki.
then again, I see current entries for other distros on ProtonDB
It appears to be an issue with the game itself. So I ended up just refunding it until I get verification that it works on other platforms. The legion go with official steamOS has the same problem.
