Bonobos 33” pants - what is my waist size?

I fit nicely into bonobos 33” pants. But every time I measure my waist around just under my belly button I get 37”. Am I just measuring wrong? I’m about 155-160 pounds.

Hi @astorian! For better answers, include: - Reference pictures - Budget in numbers - Specific measurements - Openness to buying secondhand and/or online - Location: country/continent is fine - Timing/urgency

You should be measuring pants you already own for your waist size for other garments If your pants also have an elastic waist that will also affect the fit

Oh I literally have like no actual fitting pants lmao. I went to the bonobos store and had someone fit me for these. But I was unsure if that waist size was possible for those pants at all

If those fit nice you can safely use that 33” measurement for other pants since waistlines are the same across most brands (again unless the fabric has give / is elastic) I would just also suggest looking into what the thigh, rise and inseam are before making a purchase

a lot of brands have 2" vanity size bonobos 33 might actually be a 35" waist

Yeah like Horse said, take those pants that fit, lay them flat and measure across the waistband, then double it and use that number. These would be a 35” waist, regardless of what the tag says. And then the rise can matter because they’ll likely fit differently if they sit at your hips vs your waist.
