You should send your
latest.log file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save and send the link. Can't say for sure if this is mod conflict of something else. You may need to do a binary split searching for this one.

Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
i tried asking chatGPT
Yes — the crash was caused by Distant Horizons trying to access a Minecraft version constant that wasn’t initialized:
From your crash log:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.seibel.distanthorizons.core.wrapperInterfaces.IVersionConstants.getMinecraftVersion()"
because the return value of "com.seibel.distanthorizons.core.dependencyInjection.SingletonInjector.get(java.lang.Class)" is null
This means Distant Horizons 2.3.4-b for 1.21.8 expected some internal dependency to exist (probably injected by the mod loader), but it wasn’t available at runtime. Basically: the mod couldn’t initialize itself properly.
It happened during resource pack rollback / loading overlay, so it crashed before you could even enter the game.
Disabling the network didn’t help, because the crash wasn’t due to updates or downloads—it was a mod initialization bug.
💡 In short: the 1.21.8 version of Distant Horizons is buggy or incompatible with your setup, likely due to the mod expecting a singleton or class that NeoForge didn’t provide.

i dont have any mods except for performance, some small qol and similar (not something that adds modded stuff)
They still modify game code, so it's still best to try and isolate as much variables as possible.
and yet the mods i have are similar to my modded savegame except on 1.21.1 and that one has even more mods that arent vanilla?
Does DH work if it’s the only mod?
well would you look at that it did
now how does it crash with the other mods it works perfectly fine on 1.21.1
weird
and removing then reinstallling all the mods fixed the issue
no mod incompatibility just weirdness
