Fresh KDE Install - Laggy, Games Crash

I'm swapping from Windows, but I have some linux experience since I use WSL for work.
I have a Ryzen 5600 + Radeon 6650XT w/ 16GB RAM, and it seems like there's an issue with the display drivers

I had to first boot into limited graphics mode to get the install to work - and it reported there was an error w/ the amd graphics drivers. I thought windows had bricked itself, but it may have something to do with the state of my GPU. It was locked to 1024x720, but running update/rollback/update got me into a mostly fine state. However:

  • I can't consistently open steam - it "opens", but it does not render
  • General feeling of slight input lag while typing and interacting w/ windows
  • There are glitchy black bars intermittently appearing horizontally across my monitor
  • If I am fortunate enough for steam to render and I attempt to open a game, bazzite crashes to black and I have to power cycle
The last boot log has hundreds of lines like this:
steam[2986]: ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/extest/libextest.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.
kwin_wayland[2182]: kwin_wayland_drm: Failed to create framebuffer: Invalid argument
...
kwin_wayland[2182]: kwin_wayland_drm: Failed to create framebuffer: Invalid argument

And everything I can find for this error is a case of someone using an nvidia card, so I'm kinda stumped 🤷‍♂️
Appreciate any help!
