Crash on Join / Respawn
Unsure what's causing this, but a new issue has arose that became more frequent since yesterday
Upon joining my server sometimes or upon dying, I will randomly CTD - The server itself does not crash, I am unsure what could the cause.
This is the debug log from the mod launcher after the crash that just happened 6 minutes ago - I died, going to respawn, then crashed
It also seems to crash (Client, not server) upon first joining the server after a reload/restart
This has the last 2 Factory Game files from the crashes as well

Yeah so it seems respawning guarantees a crash
But rejoining after the crash, everything is fine
I'm gonna test it with moving the hub

There's no smoking gun towards a particular mod in your logs, unfortunately

Then if no files are downloaded I'd try fully emptying my inventory and equipment slots and dying to see if it still happens

Singleplayer works fine
I will try verifying the server files then
I did 5 respawns on single player, same save, just downloaded and loaded locally - no issues
Will verify server files and report back after
Verified both the regular game installation (in case it matters) and the server tools on steam and relaunching the server - Neither reported files to be nonvalidated
I will report back momentarily if I crash upon entering
I did not crash upon entering, but I did crash upon respawning

It's weird how it only occurs on the server though
And no new mods have been added either that wouldn't be server compatible
Not really, it's a completely different build target with different requirements

I'll give this a shot and see what implodes
the fact it's developed with no new mods is more interesting, but often these kind of issues can appear later once certain things have been built rather than just unlocked
the other possibility is something has gone wrong in the save data
Before I jump into the mod disabling rabbithole, I'm gonna do a quick test on a fresh save on the server and see if it occurs
Well, fresh save, I crashed immediately
If it is save related, sometimes uploading the save to SCIM and redownloading it can smooth out some issues
so that kinda gives me some hope that it isn't baked into the save

By fresh save I mean, like completely new just to clarify

Is there any way to refresh mods, like verify them?
or would it be uninstall, reinstall and ideally they don't leave any loose files behind
I'm still relatively new to satisfactory modding

Ok so on both client and server
I turned off everything, deleted the cache, redownloaded all the mods
Fresh world loaded no crash this time
Going back to other save for further testing
I know it's not exactly as the chart suggested but I've been around the block to be willing to try this first

so far, 5 mods left, 3 enabled out of the 5, 2 after that - let's see if it crashes

one of these is the culprit
it may also be a compatibility issue between one of them and another mod since both of those are pretty common mods

I'm double checking with all fluids are gases disabled and trying advanced logistics rq

Kinda sucks if it doesn't work as that mod is a godsend for this games horrible fluids

Will test fresh save first, then go back to main save

Ok main save works fine without remux - No crash on respawn (I respawned 5 times to be thorough)
I will now make a new save with remux only and see if it crashes on join / respawn

no, but these issues occur on completely new saves as well

With running through scim, is that done through the interactive map or a different way

ok so running remux only on SCIM save (main save) - no crash on respawn
so let me backtrack, go back to my main modlist and then try this with the scim save + remux installed

Main save > Ran through SCIM > Remux installed > Respawned > No crash
This isn't my first time spending hours troubleshooting mods for a game but this is how it always ends up ^

well, things were missing from the save so I reloaded it and crashed upon trying to enter fml

now it seems stable

SO I'm gonna back this up again, because right now, on this fresh restart of the save, it seems ok...
This is the SCIM save - Remux and all mods installed - everything looks normal, I can respawn without crashing
I will proceed as normal now, and if anything weird happens, I will report
I am going to check my pipes to see if they look normal

I'm gonna mark this one as fixed in regards to using the remux mod, I haven't crashed since whatever I did last.
Damn we're having the same issue today but I don't have the gas mod

We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced in #help-using-mods. This ensures that your help request won't get buried and forgotten in other, non-help channels!
