How to run jobs like Extract Metadata on only part of collection?
How do I run jobs like Extract Metadata on only part of my collection?
I currently have a collection (25+ years) of more than half a million photos and over 1 TB data. Plus some videos.
I am new to immich and adding my collection a year at a time as external library paths.
When doing so, I notice some items with incorrect or missing EXIF info. Like missing date, etc.
So as I encounter those, I fix those issues by either correcting or adding those data.
When I have done so, I seem to have to run the Extract Metadata job for immich to pick up on these changes. This worked fine when I had only a few thousand images in my collection. But not, it takes a long time to run that job on my entire collection.
How can I force immich to update/extract metadata form only a specific path, folder, image, whatever? Anything less than entire collection would be a huge improvement π

Successfully submitted, a tag has been added to inform contributors. :white_check_mark:Use the search to filter down to what you want, then select all on that and run the job
I tried using those filters. But it seems I cannot search for pattern in the path or by folder?
So all the search options I get are basically those which are depending on EXIF data being correct in the first place :/
I assume they need to search by path which I canβt recall if that matches on
It does
Maybe we should update the hint text
this only searches the filename - not the folders/path
It does not seem to match on path/folders. I have just checked this.
