iOS Live photos no sound

My iOS live photos appear to have no sound in immich - just the moving images. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?

They play just fine for me. Can you check both your web and iOS app?

Actually, sound plays fine in the iOS app, just not on web...could it be the file format on web or something?

To noone's suprise 👀 This came up just yesterday
firefox only supports pcm in webrtc, not in a video container like mp4 or mov
HEIC are encoded with pcm by default The easy fix would be disabling pcm in your supported audio codecs in immich and retranscoding

Ah as I suspected! Typical firefox. Would disabling PCM have any downsides?

The encoded-video folder would be a bit fuller 🙂 I have pcm as accepted but I couldn't tell you what codec pack I installed to make that work ... nevermind my live photos don't have sound I just never noticed 😄
