Which shoes(s) should I wear?
TL;DR; Need some help trying to step up my shoe game as a 20 year-old. I've worn sneakers all my life, but noticed they don't really look nice on my chinos, they are too chuncky and the creamy colors don't really match well on black and blue IMO. I'm trying to go for a casual put together look, but I really don't know which shoe(s) to get. I would also prefer shoes with a wider toebox since those feel much healthier on my feet. Any shoe advice would be highly appreciated.
As I'm getting more mature, I feel like I should start dressing better for myself and others. I'm also at a point in life where I'll be doing job interviews, meeting new people, etc, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to embark on this fashion journey sooner than later. I recently bought myself a pair of navy chinos and noticed that my current sneakers (NB core 574 nimbus cloud with nb white) don't really look good on those types of pants, or at least to my eyes they don't. I also plan on buying more pieces overtime like other colored chinos, dress trousers, etc, so I thought to myself why not buy a pair of shoes that will fit well on those types of clothing. It should be something that I can wear in a casual setting without looking weird/out of place and in a semi-formal setting. I will also mention that I'm somewhat afraid to change up my style even though I genuinely want to, I want to ease into this journey rather than jumping in, but I really don't have a sense of what type of shoes I should buy. I've come across dark brown suede loafers, goodyear welted shoes, goodyear welted derbies, and some other ones I forgot about. I'm not sure if I even have the confidence to wear any of these shoes even though I think some of them look quite good, I'm scared I'll look overdressed or too old. What shoe(s) would you recommend for a 20 year-old trying to dress better.
