When i get a spare minute Ill write some lavish praise, but I think a slight disclaimer at the start is appropriate:
Besides the new stuff which is pretty self-evidently mfg in name only, the japanese menswear stuff in the 2000s is rly mediocre and was also licensed out for its designs and manufacturing
Especially the denim, which if it has a japanese tag and a weird cut you should probably ignore
Ohh interesting I’ve never come across that yet, all of my 2000s pieces are made in Italy I think

Yeah i assume it doesnt rly exist outside of japan secondhand markets
Then I’ve got some 90s stuff too
The good 80s stuff is impossible to come by it’s resold for so much
Most of what I have is 2000s women’s pieces
Strangely tho this doesnt apply to the womenswear. Idk whether the womenswear was never licensed the same way, or whether the designers were just way better
But the womenswear all absolutely fucks pretty much no matter what

Then theres also the line « Closed » which then became its own brand and then was sold off
Brand is still going but has no relation to them anymore

It’s got 3 modular flaps and a dozen buttons and 2 layers of fabric where you can reshape it in many ways

They’re somewhat consistent with sizing so that makes it convenient to buy online for me

@Nico Good timing posting this, I've been looking for a jacket from them for the past couple months and just had my offer accepted for this
Probably not the most interesting thing by them but I've been looking for a denim jacket that was slightly different from the norm and I like the chest pockets on this

Yeah, I've been needing something like this too
Finally got my Closed Basics MFG denim jacket and realized it has internal pockets for shoulderpads for that real 80s box look
unfortunately the shoulder pads were not included

might be a fun diy project to rip them open and replace the padding.
