idk too many so i tried to put what i could think of
deep-jade•3mo ago
Mug cake
chili
also who in the world microwaves ramen
rival-black•3mo ago
me
nerd
eager-peach•3mo ago
...me?
vicious-gold•3mo ago
velveeta shells & cheese was jitt me's life source
eager-peach•3mo ago
you can boil it or you can microwave it
just dont microwave cup noodles in the cup
i don’t think instant ramen should really count as ramen
eager-peach•3mo ago
put it in a bowl if youre gonna microwave it or just boil it
there is a big difference
eager-peach•3mo ago
"chicken sandwiches aren't sandwiches"
vicious-gold•3mo ago
is microwavable kraft mac-n-cheese mac-n-cheese?
ok give me a few seconds to explain my reasoning
ramen is like a typical meal, not something you would make in a microwave
instant ramen, or my preferred term, instant noodles, are wheat noodles made to be quickly cooked
you dont just microwave steak do you (don’t it’s a food hazard)
microwaving instant food is generally not the same as preparing and making food
eager-peach•3mo ago
okay but i can make frozen corn dogs made to be cooked in a microwave in 1-2 minutes and it still is a corn dog, even if it wasnt fully cooked and fried like a regular one
food is confusing bruh
it is fully cooked and fried
it’s just cold
you’re not microwaving raw hotdog and batter are you…
eager-peach•3mo ago
no-
im not dead
well i sure hope you arent
vicious-gold•3mo ago
that instant ramen is still ramen
nah instant ramen is already cooked
that’s why it’s instant
eager-peach•3mo ago
....
doesnt that break your own logic?
no?
vicious-gold•3mo ago
if that's your reasoning then your logic falls flat
eager-peach•3mo ago
it is already cooked ramen, you just heat it up
like the corn dog
it’s not cooked ramen it’s fried noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
basically includes anything thats pre-cooked then
im not joking search it up
eager-peach•3mo ago
okay but why, at a fundamental level, isn't it ramen?
vicious-gold•3mo ago
you just said it was already cooked :loathe:
they’re both noodles yes
yea it’s cooked
but cooked wheat is different from bread
vicious-gold•3mo ago
are you saying bread can only be made from wheat
…no
that’s an entire different sentence
vicious-gold•3mo ago
i dont get it
ramen can be rice noodles or wheat noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
if a food is already cooked
like asparagus, precooked asparagus isnt asparagus??? @j
thats what youre saying
what
eager-peach•3mo ago
okay okay
let's say we have a sandwich, and usually i put ham on it, but is it not still a sandwich if i put chicken in it? it's the same food, different ingredients yes, but still falls under the same category
fried onions isnt the same as boiled
it’s onions yes
eager-peach•3mo ago
yes there's a huge difference, but it is still a sandwich, that is what it resembles and falls under
vicious-gold•3mo ago
so youre saying frying is an invalid way of cooking
and anything thats fried isnt food
just as you say microwaving food makes it not food
but fried onions isnt boiled onions
instant(fried) ramen isnt the same as (boiled) ramen
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:3847blunder:
no?
it’s just ramen is cooked differently
eager-peach•3mo ago
logical fallacy btw that you just did, thats a generalization of her words, but i get what you mean
roasted and fried chicken are different meals
vicious-gold•3mo ago
shocker: fried onions and boiled onions are STILL onions
just as fried ramen and boiled ramen is still ramen
same ingredients, different foods
eager-peach•3mo ago
okay so if i fry my chicken or boil my chicken one is chicken and the other is another food?
ramen isnt the noodle its the entire meal
and ramen(the meal) is also usually not made with fried noodles
eager-peach•3mo ago
some instant ramens will include vegetables and sometimes even sauce
vicious-gold•3mo ago
tomato tomato whats the difference
ketchup is not the same as salsa
thats the difference
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:loathe:
i think jayd is going crazy
instant ramen isnt ramen because instant ramen is prepared differently from other kinds of ramen
no im not

(photo intended)
vicious-gold•3mo ago
vanilla ice cream:homer_hide:
isnt preparation the most important part?
vicious-gold•3mo ago
have you realized that theres different kinds of ramen that are prepared differently from other kinds of ramen
eager-peach•3mo ago
anything can vary yk, it's about the fundamentals
at it's core, it's noodles, has some sort of veggies like maybe dried vegetables or seaweed (yes even maruchan instant noodles has that, pretty sure it's seaweed? im unsure exactly), and meat based broth
vicious-gold•3mo ago
just like you can cook chicken
you can fry chicken
its still chicken

eager-peach•3mo ago
american pizza and italian pizza are entirely different styles but at the core are still pizza
yea it sure is a lot
ships biscuits and noodles are still cooked doughs
vicious-gold•3mo ago
this really only tells a single ingredient not preparation
behold: ramen

eager-peach•3mo ago
latin american tacos and USA tacos are very different even with the tortilla but are still tacos at the end of the day
are baguettes really thick noodles
eager-peach•3mo ago
it's got a noodles and meat based broth for one of them
yea but would you call it ramen
eager-peach•3mo ago
the taste can also help determine ig
yeah, maybe a more child targeted ramen but still ramen
also gotta take intent in as a factor
vicious-gold•3mo ago
baguettes are based off bread and noodles are based off pasta
it’s not even ramen
it’s not called ramen
it was never intended to be ramen
you just called it ramen
eager-peach•3mo ago
okay
rice is pasta now i guess
vicious-gold•3mo ago
its made out of ramen noodles
eager-peach•3mo ago
i'd consider it ramen cause of the chicken flavoring and noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:3847blunder:
ramen noodles are just noodles
eager-peach•3mo ago
rice is a grain...
its not an adjective
eager-peach•3mo ago
it is grown
yea why arent you calling testboxel out on that
vicious-gold•3mo ago
"rice is pasta" is probably the biggest blunder ive seen yet
you made that blunder
vicious-gold•3mo ago
calling out on what
we dont see it
not all noodles are wheat
eager-peach•3mo ago
true idk what textboxels is entirely saying lol
vicious-gold•3mo ago
tell me where i said that
give me your sources
i dont know what the fuck jayd is saying
noodles are based of pastapasta is wheat noodles actually came before pasta
vicious-gold•3mo ago
ok i just got "erm ackually"'d
the first noodle was made from millet
noodles were never and are never based on pasta
eager-peach•3mo ago
at the end of the day, i think instant ramen IS ramen, for even the most basic kind uses meat based broth, thin noodles, and seaweed or vegetables
vicious-gold•3mo ago
noodles are based off of grains
you happy now
maybe pasta are based on noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
👍
good job you got it right
eager-peach•3mo ago
the difference is the way they are cooked and some ingredients are difference, but at the core it is ramen, just different types
that is my view
the distinction is important however
vicious-gold•3mo ago
we could honestly give less of a damn about HOW instant ramen is prepared vs traditional ramen
just like how we prepare our chicken
you dont microwave raw chicken do you
i sure hope you dont
that’s dangerous
vicious-gold•3mo ago
the noodles in instant ramen arent raw
yea and ramen isnt cooked
not to begin with
eager-peach•3mo ago
"white bread cant be bread cause bread is whole wheat"
vicious-gold•3mo ago
thats literally how you start any kind of ramen
:fp:
you said instant ramen is boiled
and fried
microwave corndogs are still just frozen cooked and battered corndogs
id get if you mean like microwave leftover ramen but based on the context it isnt the same
when
i just said cooked
and fried
vicious-gold•3mo ago
see
not boiled and fried
vicious-gold•3mo ago
you really like to take everything i say verbatim
yea you never said anything i could agree with so why should i agree
vicious-gold•3mo ago
why should i agree to the bold claim that "instant ramen isnt ramen because theyre prepared differently"
pasta is made from dough and bread is also made from dough
because it isnt? instant ramen isnt even fully prepared
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:areyoufuckingserious: im kind of getting sick of this shit
im not arguing instant ramen isnt real or not a real food
it just isnt ramen
vicious-gold•3mo ago
instant ramen is still ramen
end of story
what similarities does it have besides soup and noodle
since a lot of noodle meals have soup and noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
instant ramen contains RAMEN noodles
ramen isnt an adjective
vicious-gold•3mo ago
and ramen can have many different kinds of sauces and broths
🤓
im losing it
of course it isnt an adjective
RAMEN NOODLES is a TYPE of NOODLE
it isnt!
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:loathe:
it’s just wheat or rice
ramen noodles are thin firm yellow noodles made with wheat and alkaline water
vicious-gold•3mo ago
so youre saying something that is in fact a noodle isnt a noodle and instead it's actually its base ingredients
"ah yes hot dogs arent hot dogs theyre actually beef and casing"
you can make ramen with a lot of different noodles
which one is “ramen noodles”
vicious-gold•3mo ago
:True:
there are rice thin noodles for ramen and theres also wheat thicker noodles for ramen
as stated above ramen noodles are thin firm noodles made with wheat and alkaline water
you cant label a single type of noodle as ramen noodles
vicious-gold•3mo ago
OH. so we cant label spaghetti noodles either?
of course thats just standard recipes
labeling anything that is a real life object eventually reaches an extent where defining it is not possible
or simply unnecessary
id argue whatever noodles you use to make the food is spaghetti noodles
but as we are arguing whether instant ramen is ramen, it wouldnt apply
since itd be x=y y=x
you can but i personally dont think it matters
i’m gonna keep calling baguettes thick noodles
its long and made from dough and meant to be eaten
thats what i think a noodle is
yea im also gonna call baguette noodles now
i mean it is
ramen is a dish made with ramen noodles and other stuff
baked is a valid way of making noodles
ramen noodles are noodles used in ramen
they’re usually thin
thats what ramen is and it works
any loopholes don’t really matter
“oh that would make udon noodles ramen if you use it in ramen” sure yeah
if you use any noodle in ramen its ramen noodle now
if you’re gonna use it in ramen its a ramen noodle
intent and material is kinda all that matters for most definitions of nouns
sausages are meat noodles
afraid-scarlet•3mo ago
leftover pizza
