Priority tag before syslog line...

Hi, I'm in the process of setting up a syslog server and I chose Vector for this. However it seems like they add a <priority> tag before every syslog line... Like so:
<86>Sep 8 09:50:30 Tower sshd-session[2240196]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by (uid=0)
<86>Sep 8 09:50:30 Tower sshd-session[2240196]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by (uid=0)
Will this break things? The original line is as follows:
Sep 8 09:50:30 Tower sshd-session[2240196]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by (uid=0)
Sep 8 09:50:30 Tower sshd-session[2240196]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user root(uid=0) by (uid=0)
