Question - How to backup self instance to another device?
Hi. This might seem like a question that's been asked a lot.
But:
How can I backup ente photos onto another device, that's not on the same network as the server is now?
Like which folders should I backup.

To back up your Ente Photos data to another device, even one not on the same network, you can use Ente's CLI tool or the desktop app to export your data to a local drive. This ensures you have a copy of your original photos and videos available.
You can use Ente's CLI tool, found at https://github.com/ente-io/ente/tree/main/cli#export, to export your data to a location of your choice using a cron job. The exports are incremental and handle interruptions gracefully. Alternatively, Ente's desktop app, available for download at https://ente.io/download/desktop, can export your data to a folder of your choice, with support for continuous exports that automatically back up new items in the background. See https://help.ente.io/photos/migration/export/ for more details.

Hi, might I ask how exactly?
I'm like not understanding this at all with my brain that's not correctly developed :d
I searched online and it made me confused
Do you keep ur instance on a virtual machine? For me its easier to just backup VMs to a server somewhere else like my parents place. That way if my home server COMPLETELY DIED, its easy to rebuild.
It actually came in clutch a couple days ago because i messed uo my ente vm, so i just deleted it, and rebuild from a backup and it was up and running again
If your Ente compose stack resides within a single folder, then you could use Restic to incrementally backup your entire stack. This makes restoring very easy and the backup can be stored locally or remotely with or without encryption.
it was on VPS
also I'll close this cuz I removed the ente from the server
