Change controller
Hey, is it possible to later switchout the controller to make it wired instead of staying with wireless?

Good question! 👍
Our Corne Wireless and Lily58 Wireless are designed specifically around the nice!nano controller for wireless use. The PCBs already have the JST jack, power switch, and footprints for the nice!view that line up with the nice!nano pinout.
You technically could swap to a wired-only controller (like a Pro Micro or Elite-C) if you had the soldering skills, but it’s not straightforward because:
- The firmware and wiring are set up for wireless (ZMK with Bluetooth).
- The USB port placement won’t line up with the case designed for the nice!nano.
- You’d likely need to modify/recompile firmware (e.g. QMK) and carefully solder in a different microcontroller.
So while it’s possible with some DIY modification, it’s not a drop-in replacement and not something we officially support with these kits since they’re optimized for wireless.
If you’re interested in a purely wired build with simpler setup, it might be better to go with a traditional wired PCB instead.
Would you like me to explain the main differences in firmware setup (ZMK vs QMK) if you were to attempt a swap?
