Missing uploaded photos when restarting docker

Hey guys! I'm trying Immich to replace my Google Photos and have installed it on my local machine. On my machine, I'm using Ubuntu 22, Docker Desktop, and Immich, which is running over Docker. Every time I need to restart Docker for any reason, I lose all the progress that I had. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

sounds like a docker setup without any volume

when you ask for setup you mean yml and .env file or device setup? Is this configured in .env file? Makes sense cause I don't know where .env file is.

its a hidden file, you can nano .env and it should open. Are there folders with assets in them in the folder where you have immich?

Everything should be in the library folder :aPES_Think: no errors when you run docker compose up and upload stuff? the permissions are mixed

do you mind move the docker-compose and .env file to a folder on your home directory? then start it up, register and then try restart your machine then after it is done restarting, run docker compose up again and check if the state are saved there

Is this WSL or Ubuntu @rtassini ? Ah sorry ubuntu I see With docker desktop If you're losing progress any time you restart, then that means things aren't mounted the way you think they are

Looks like moving to the home dir solved it.
