When I try buying the currency it doesn’t take me to another screen to purchase on steam deck

You are on correct proton. Only thing that might lead to this is adding Heroic itself inside of Steam, instead of adding game itself.

Just checked exit system tray and automatically update games but heroic updates is not there

Check Add games to Steam automatically
Remove Heroic itself from game mode
Dont add Heroic itself to Steam basically

Ah ok i removed it from steam
Now

And start game via Steam library
