Congratulations! You received an invitation to a party with the dress code "cocktail attire". 🍸 What are you wearing, either in general or with specific clothes? (yes this means post pics) How easy or difficult would it be to translate your typical style to this setting?

In my experience: Tux
Hawaiian tee, cargo shorts, flip flops, jimmy buffett on the mother effin jukebox
Casual suit, dress shirt, +/- tie, loafers
I've worn CDG to every single one of these with a lace scarf as a tie tbh
Not the greatest if you wanna follow outfit rules strictly though
I rarely find that it's as strict as true cocktail attire; usually they just want you to dress up fairly smart with some kind of suiting jacket, not necessarily a tux
As some of you know I went to a wedding with a cocktail dress code last week
Actual dress codes for aren’t really a thing for events (except balls) around here so people were kind of confused
The event had everything from rompers to floor length gowns:xd:
And everything was fine in the end so I guess it‘s really not that strict
Yeah, thats kind of my experience as well in the social circles im moving in.
I usually just wear some of my nicer suit separates or my orange corduroy suit.
