Immich upload started on wi-fi continues on mobile data?
I had an incident last week when traveling where I was in a hotel room on wifi and Immich started backing up photos as it should. I then left the hotel which of course dropped the wifi connection, but the Immich upload process continued running on my mobile data plan. It blasted through almost 3Gb of data before I started getting warning emails and notifications from the network provider. I was only lucky that this happened on the last day of my trip so I could manage anyway, but this is a completely unacceptable behavior of the app.
Is this a known issue? In summary what I had is this:
- Use cellular to backup videos disabled
- Use cellular to backup photos disabled
- Backup enabled
- Wireguard connected to home router
- Backup starts while connected to hotel wifi
- I leave the hotel and the wifi connection is lost
- Immich continues the backup and uploads almost 3Gb over my cellular data plan
All this on Immich 1.142.1 build 3015 on the mobile app.
