Android app doesnt upload when Wi-Fi doesnt have access to the internet.

I noticed, when my phone is connected to the same network that my Immich server is on, but the network doesnt have access to the internet, the Immich app doesnt upload the photos (Even though the application is correctly configured to use local IP when on my home wifi)
Is this a bug or is it some security thing?
