Iris wont load Shaders
Hello,
im on minecraft version 1.21.1 using iris-neoforge-1.8.12+mc1.21.1.jar and every time i try to load a shader i get the following error code: shadow_solid: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException. Anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks!

Seems like you're running a beta version of Iris? If you got it somewhere here, see if downloading and using the one on Modrinth changes anything.

Interesting error message. Can you share your game logs? That alone only tell a very small part of the problem.
How to find crash reports and logs
If your issue involves a game crash, please locate the crash-reports folder in your .minecraft directory and drag the relevant crash report into Discord.
If your issue does NOT involve a crash, or there is otherwise no available crash report, please locate the logs folder in your .minecraft directory and drag the file named latest.log into Discord.
Please click yes when the Allium bot asks if you want to upload the file to mclo.gs

Here is the log file. Thanks for taking time to look at it 🙂

Forget what I just said.
Anyways, this sure is an elusive one. I guess a Thanos Method™ is necessary here.
I won't. Even though the version on modrinth is the one I had installed, just replacing the file seems to have worked for now xD
That, or you can try removing suspect mods first, such as 3D Skin Layers.
Uhm, fair?
I didn't try myself because I just saw that the most recent version was the one I was running. But thanks a ton ❤️
