DPL3 Produces Errors when Categories are Called On
I have DPL3 enabled on my Wiki so I can have category pages that are sorted by the last edited date except when filling out the parameter for categories, it spits back this error

I'm also getting this error with DPL3
I’ll take a look tonight
It’s probably something to do with a SQL config flag
Did you happen to get a chance to look at this? I'm still receiving the error as of now
Sorry I forgot, I will actually look later tonight lol
No worries! Thanks
shit I forgot to look again
on the weekend I promise lmao
so sorry
@Cal what's your wiki dbname?
No worries! I know the week is busy.
what page gives the error?
I don't have anything with it currently but anytime trying to call the extension by catetories
I can't reproduce can you find a page it occurs on?
@Thomas I'm finding it won't actually save the page when the error occurs so I had to transclude it from a template to get it to show up: https://loveanddeepspace.wikioasis.org/wiki/Events
It's pulling from Template:DPL just for example. The template is using {{#dpl:
|category=Events
}}
Which is a category that exists.
For what it's worth, the extension itself works, as I'm able to use other functions that don't actually attempt to pull from a category or anything like that
Let me know if there's any other information I can give
I'll do some proper research into it later
but I'm not completely sure
it might be something to do with your template not sure
I'll see if it's a sql flag
did it work before the big migration
I don't believe I used it before the move. I only put it into a template so it would save and show the error. If I just try to use the dpl parser tags and it's defined by a category, that's the error that pops up. But it won't let you actually save the page with that error which is why I used the template, just so you could see what the error was.
I've been having the same issue as well. Particularly with Module:I18n. Given the error message, I believe it may indeed be an SQL flag.

I'll take a look tonight at whichever config flag it is
I’ll see if updating to dpl4 fixes this
I'll do this on the weekend when I have more time btw lol
sorry for the delays
Did you get a chance to do this? I didn't see DPL4 as an extension option so I figured not but thought I'd check
no I"ve been so busy lol
Does @すずねーう or another tech team member have a chance to?
Even if just trying to upgrade to DPL4 to see if that fixes things. It's not super critical and I totally get life being busy 🙂
I will do it tonight lol
you have said you will do it tonight 3 times 😭
no this time I mean it lol
I've been getting a similar issue. I have DPL3 and even the basic template code given by MediaWiki's own site is not compiling on my wiki

try dpl1
but
I'm setting up a test stack later today
so I'll look into it then
:)
Standard DPL does render without that error but obvious has fewer options haha
I think something got triggered with my DPL settings but now I can't access any of the extensions at all

oops I'll rollback a change I made
there that should fix it
I'm still not completely sure what the issue is lol
it works again. Thx
I tried using this to list recent blogs created in the wiki and it is showing this error instead

I think you might need to comma seperate not sure
dpl is confusing for me lol
Can understand
generally the mediawiki side of stuff used to be done by waki but I'm slowly taking it over as he becomes less active lol
Sorry I don't have much time here due to student activities. I will try to address if the system I have built has problem, but I don't know if I can get to anything else
Thx
