Brand Spotlight: Levi's - Topic of the day 9/24/25

One of the most enduring clothing brands today, if I say Levi's you probably have an opinion. How do you feel about Levi's, both in general relative to other denim companies? Are the modern jeans or denim jackets worth the cost? What products in Levi's roster stand out to you?

There are so many pairs of Levi's and Levi's trucker jackets out there that I see almost no reason to buy new ones. Nearly everything else they make is meh.

I'm sort of interested in these as far as new stuff goes https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/clothing/men/jeans/loose/twisted-baggy-wide-leg-mens-jeans/p/002WK0000 For more regular jeans no reason not to get vintage ones; I'm wearing a pair of mine right now

Company entrenched with history but also has become mostly just a large brand with extreme QC issues (crazy variation even with the same model) and also hasn't done much as a custodian of its own history/released quality re-pros on the level of the Japanese repros, but is incredibly litigation prone to even the slightest remake of its designs from other companies, despite not offering a similar quality alternative

Hop on ebay, get some made in mexico $30 orange tabs from the 90s and wash your hands of this sinister wicked company if you want some great jeans for not much money

It's actually funny how bad their MiJ was when I tried it on Well maybe not bad, but just fine Like, not special in the slightest And for the price you could buy denim that really rocks That being said these are calling to me

100% this. New levi’s are generally shite, poor pocket placement and QC. and not a great price for what you get The only one of the old Big Three still making good jeans is wrangler imo

I definitely have a soft spot for old made in USA 501's and some of the collaborations like the beams one for example. Sadly its just like most other brands that they make a lot of product nobody really wants or cares about I always have to check the levi's section of any vintage store to see if there are any gems though

I have a type I jacket from Levi's that looks great, it's neppy and drapes well. Unlike most type I's the shoulders are not overly wide so it fits me well.

If I had NA pricing I would definitely think this I think, but UK/EU retail is crazy money for what they offer IMO.

I like levi's. I feel like they put out a lot of cool stuff but you have to be quite selective. They do a lot of collabs so seems like a good gateway into other brands.

I don't think its really worth it to buy Levis new or used in Europe. The good MiUSA ones are considerably less common or require high shipping costs from the US, and Levis retail in Europe is a bit silly imo. Vintage Diesel is much better in terms of availability/price

just bought them in size 32 we'll see when they get here

is the main gripe with lvc the price? got a pair of 1937s for 50 quid ($70ish?) and theyre pretty sweet, but they are my first pair of raw denim

price, quality control and design are my issues pocket placement on new levi’s is incredibly bad
