Storage Issue
Hi everyone
I have a storage issue on Neon
I see that my two branches smaller than 100 mb each. But for some reason I got limit more than 0.5 GB 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Hey!
Do you have have a a restore window on? The WALs that need to be stored for PITR are most likely taking up the rest of the space

I'm not sure about the restore window
I see this in the restore settings:
"Your current history retention period is set to 1 day. Edit history settings"
Do I need to change something?

To free up space you could change your retention period, and then your WALs wont count towards you storage as much.
You can change it to something like 1h, that way if you make a mistake you can still PITR restore, but you'll cut down on WAL storage

Yeah I'm running into a similar problem as well. I'm looking at storage that is allegedly close to my limit, but looking at my branches shows that the actual data size is much less and doesn't add up. My WALs also seem to not be taking up that much space but just in case, I've additionally set it to 0 hours.
But what could the mystery storage consumption really be coming from? It doesn't seem to add up from what I can tell

Good morning @Andre Landgraf ! just as another data point, my project jumped .03 GB since the last time I shared a screenshot, despite not too much activity on my service. Let me know if there's more screenshots I can provide or commands I can run that might help diagnose!

I just checked my DB dashboard and saw that storage usage is correct now

Yes on my end it's reset as well, would still love to know the root cause to ensure I don't approach the limit so closely every month 😅

Will update on root cause in a bit. Deployed a fix but still discussing some enhancements and next steps.
As far as I know so far, it only affected the free tier and only the UI - it didn’t block DB access, just falsely reported storage usage.
