Missing Dsound dll error on Windows 11 N 24H2 occurs even though Dsound dll is present in my files.
I've tried everything, literally.
from trying to install Media Features Pack from the add optional feature panel in settings to forcing the installation of Media Features Pack directly from CMDS, nothing worked.
the issue persists and I'm loosing my mind...

the only fix to this issue was to reinstall windows with any non N version of it, i higly suggest saving your important files in an USB or an external drive (or just an extra ssd/hdd and unplug it while you reinstall windows)
anything else will make you lose your mind...

I did the fix thing that reinstals the current version so thats not the issue, + i just installed the os, new setup
gives me high hopes 💔

Specifically one without the media player. Which would be why the DSound DLL is not working by default

I was promised no bloatware, and found no flavor in simplicity.
I'd have to redownload it entirely it only shows up if adding the feature fails on completion.

I don't wanna lose all I downloaded so far + we sweated over trynna get an old wifi adater to wwork and i'm not going trough that once again

You can throw anything that you want to keep on the USB drive in a special folder. And also take drivers for that Wi-Fi card

just try going back and see what version you got put on
after it's done, just press windows and then enter "winver"
