Gaming Mode limiting to 20fps - Frame limiter is off
So this is the second time I've had this type of issue on my machine. In gaming mode, most games are being limited to 20fps during gameplay, but menus are available to run at 144fps max.
In desktop mode, I don't get this issue. I want to use the machine as a dedicated gaming build so gaming mode is pretty important to me.
Using latest build, gnome environment, 5700x3d and 5070Ti paired with a 4K 144hz monitor.
As a side problem, setting resolution automatically doesn't set it to 4K 144hz, and if I try to see the resolution to 4K 120hz it just doesn't allow it.

Can you send a screenshot of the advanced performance settingr in the right steam side menu?
Using the quick panel? Yeah I'll send that in just a sec
Sorry, I couldn't screenshot, it wouldn't show up and I couldn't figure out how to make the panel show but I've taken a photo

And here's the performance overlay

That's in The Quarry
Here's the same issue with Tears Of The Kingdom being emulated

But in desktop mode, I don't have the issue. Tears Of The Kingdom in the exact same spot is running fine

Frame rate is in the bottom right showing 80fps
it was working perfectly fine for the last few days after a clean install, now this
hmmm I thought gamescope might be capping the frames but that doesn't seem to be the case
you could try opening the full mangohud overlay in desktop mode by adding
mangohud MANGOHUD_CONFIG=read_cfg,full %command%
as a steam launch argument. then we can compare the 2 to see if there's any obvious differencesYeah definitely not that, when I was trying Bazzite a few weeks ago and had this issue someone suggested that too but I've never limited the fps in the quick panel
I'll try that in a moment on The Quarry again, for some reason Tears Of The Kingdom won't load in desktop mode via steam, but I'll try that as well if I can
