problems with the game

I am writing to report a severe performance issue in tModLoader.
The Problem: When playing with mods (such as Calamity and others), the game experiences very significant FPS drops, down to 40 FPS and below, making it extremely laggy. This happens only with mods. The vanilla Terraria client from Steam runs perfectly fine with high and stable FPS.
My System Specifications:
· CPU: Ryzen 7-8700F
· GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
· Platform: Steam
Could you please advise what the cause might be? My hardware should be more than capable of handling the game. Are there any known optimization issues with large modpacks or specific settings in tModLoader I should check? What can I do to fix this?

TML / Terraria are single threaded and very much dependent on how strong a single CPU core is, your other specs don't matter nearly as much
If you get lag, you can reduce in game settings, run a smaller world size, or use less mods. Or run the game windowed and in a smaller resolution, that's about it
