Harrington Jacket Help
Hello I am looking at getting a Harrington or similar blouson style jacket for Fall and Spring wear.
I’m mainly between either a Baracute G9 or the Grenfell Harrington. Both look good, but there is less info on the Grenfell and I can’t see sizing for it.
Is this a versatile jacket, and is one brand better than the other? I’m mainly looking at new as I’m too small and slim to fit a vintage jacket.
Thanks!

Hi @PrettyShyGuy! For better answers, include:
- Reference pictures
- Budget in numbers
- Specific measurements
- Openness to buying secondhand and/or online
- Location: country/continent is fine
- Timing/urgency
Yeah sure it's versatile. What is attracting you to the grenfell jacket despite the lack of info of sizing? I'm not familiar with the brand so can't speak to the quality.
Baracuta should be fine
I’m mainly looking at new as I’m too small and slim to fit a vintage jacket. This doesn't really make sense to me because people have been coming in all shapes and sizes for a long time now! There are a lot of second hand harringtons out there But it's a classic so if you can afford it and feel most comfortable with a new G9, just go for that
i have a vintage Harrington jacket its one of the easiest things in my closet to just put on with almost whatever 10/10
The main difference is about the fabric. The G9 is a cotton/poly, while the Grenfell is 100% cotton (a gabardine maybe). Is that poly mix a big deal or not really?
It’s probably better tbh because it will be more weather proof
