Polyethylene in clothing

My viscose pants I bought are 20% polyethylene- so like, PE, the basic plastic from water bottles etc I’ve never seen it in clothes I think? I was wondering why it’s not more common, knowing it’s the most produced type of plastics! Have you seen instances of PE on material composition tags? Just curious, thanks!

sometimes they just put it to be specific, its part of the polyester family so its just more common to see it labeled as polyester

but polyester is PET while according to the tag this would be PE which has different properties maybe they wanted to write polyethylene terephtalate (PET, polyester) and wrote it wrong yeah that's what would make more sense

It's probably a legal thing in some jurisdictions polyethylene is a polyester even if its not PET

That’s something I always want to say to ppl who reject anything with polyester, it’s a very broad category
