iOS app using excessive amount of storage

After using the Immich app to upload all my photos, the app is using 45GB of space on my phone, and 16GB on my iPad. I tried using the "clear file cache" button which seemed to work on my iPad (it was previously using somewhere in the 40GB range there too) but it doesn't seem to do much on my phone

The clear file cache should help. Also the recent release handles this efficiently so the space will be cleaned up once the backup is done. What version of the mobile app are you using?

tried clearing the file cache again after upgrading to 2.0.0 (229), but it didn't seem to do much

Yeah, I suspect the background uploader to be caching files for uploads and not cleaning them up properly. I'll take a look at this. Thanks for the report

also jsyk, tried seeing if i could actually provide more info by dumping the immich app data using a itunes backup, and it doesn't seem to include anywhere close to the 45GB (iirc cache data is excluded), but i did notice that there's multiple leftover sqlite exports which idk if is intended or leftovers from the export database button

They are from the previous export, and yes, we should definitely be cleaning them up 😅
