so in part 2 of this question i wasnt able to solve it at first. now the solution is the second image i have attached. why is Pext taken to be 1? sorry if its obvious (my guess is that the final pressure is 1 atm?) but i dont get it/need to confirm. (source : dexterchem's lec 3 on thermo)

oh k. i had done thermo in phy and we are being taught thermo in chem now (after gibb's is used in like every chp 😕). so irreversible work was new to me.
