Battery charge limit on gnome deck images?

Using a steam deck OLED. Just wondering how I get the battery charge limit? I did some reading and I think I need something called steamos-manager but I could be completely wrong and idk how to get that on here.

Implement missing battery charge limit in Gaming Mode · Issue #265...
Describe the bug Battery limit just implemented in beta by Valve are missing from the performance menu. This is probably because this service is missing in Bazzite: https://gitlab.com/evlaV/vpower ...

Alright im trying to update HHD hoping that does something?? Im really clueless yeah that did nothing, cool! from what I know, SteamOS manager should just be a SteamOS thing. So I do not need it but now I’m just confused why my HHD doesn’t have battery limit settings I’ll try seeing if I can do anything in the bios

hhd was purely designed for handhelds other than steam deck. steamos-manager which you've mentioned earlier needs to be ported to bazzite itself so it can be used from steam gaming mode, or hhd need to support steam deck already if you're concerned about it, stick to steamos

im not really that concerned about it but it would be nice I prefer bazzite for having Waydroid supported, able to have gnome, ujust commands are really nice. Do they plan to have HHD support that feature for deck?

no clue, I just described why this isn't working on steam deck specifically I own steam deck oled and use bazzite gnome too, would be nice to have it here, but again it needs to be ported

I probably saw that hhd will support setups other than handhelds and htpc, but other than that I don't really recall anything about steam deck

I see atleast if the battery does ever get bad, I could probably easily replace it benefits of bazzite are worth trade off for me, thank you for your help

sure, if that somehow helped 😅

it didn’t really but it gave me closure 😭

maybe someone else will chime in and give an alternative to all of this, but personally better to stick to valve's implementation if it's available

There are some gnome extensions as well that seem designed to limit battery charge. But don't know if they work with tuned But check their compatibility list. Most of them have one

sudo systemctl enable --now batterylimit.service default limit is 90% & to change it you can edit /etc/defaultbatterylimit e.g. to 80
