Steam unable to connect to server

Hello! I've been having connection errors on Steam. It gives me Error Code: -105 when first launching and it will fail the same way when going to the Store. I have checked with System Update and everything returns OK. I also tried running ujust fix-reset-steam, connection problems persist Edit: Friends list displays ok Downloads seem to be working. Anticheat updates/connection like Gameguard from Helldivers 2 fails to run and returns a message that says it failed to update. When checking for updates form Steam it says it's up to date. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Hi! Just to clarify and make sure I understand you correctly, it sounds like you've managed to get Steam to connect (at least, enough to view your friends list and such). Is Steam launching okay, and it isn't connecting to the store point-blank? Or is it just specific games?

Hello! That's correct, as soon as it launches it fails to load the store and all related pages, but Friends list appears alright. The specific game that is giving me trouble is Helldivers 2. I have been playing it without problems for months until a few days ago. Anti-cheat will fail to load and according to its' FAQ it's an update issue. I thought the problems might be related since I cannot find any other problem reports saying Helldivers suddenly stopped working on Bazzite.

Okay! I'm afraid I don't know how to fix the store issue (the only relevant article I found was here, where their issue was a DNS-related one); however, I do know that Gameguard is a kernel-level anticheat, and kernel-level anticheats don't work on Bazzite (as far as I'm aware; that it was working on Bazzite to begin with is a mystery to me). Someone else with more experience than me will hopefully be around soon to help you troubleshoot ^^

I didn't know Gameguard is kernel-level anticheat D: I mostly play HD2 on my Steam Deck and Bazzite Desktop and have never had any problems. It semed to work almost flawlesly with Proton I will take a look at this. A few days ago I was using ExpressVPN on and off, it required me to install it through rpm-ostree. At this time the package is uninstalled, but I wonder if it's related

Maybe the anti-cheat does what stupid DRMs do when they see installs in different places?

This is the only setting I changed from default in steam, my HD2 works - what proton are you using?

I was using proton HotFix, then tested with experimental and 9 Everything was working well, until it wasn't xD

Try using Proton Up-Qt or ProtonPlus to get Proton Ge then try that

Will try that, thank you all! Any idea why Steam might not be connecting fully? Store pages are not loading at all

It's an intel chip, but my machine is connected through internet I ended up reinstalling the whole system. Stema would not work even after a reinstall and deleting preferences and I also started having issues with Davinci Box reufusin to run
